Are you answering?
If you would’ve asked me yesterday, I would’ve said yes. Yup- lol you read that right. I would have tried to justify my answer with explaining that my past may need me, my past may have somehow changed and deserves access into my present and future, my past didn’t know what it was doing then but this time it’s ready for me.
Chile- hush. And I mean that in the most loving way I can. If your past couldn’t adjust to who you were then, what makes you think it’s ready for who you are now- after you’ve leveled up a few times? The past will always be the past, how can it ever change? And that goes for people too, when people from your past try to come back you have to realize that they are coming back looking for the you that they once had- they assume you magically stopped developing because they exited you life. **as if** The only thing every creation needs is Jesus, and darling, even on your best day you are not Jesus. Walk with Him? Yes. Living with Him in you? Absolutely. Talk to Him? Baby you know you it, but you are NOT Jesus, so when your past or even your emotions are trying to guilt trip you into believing that they can’t make it without YOU, point them in the direction of Jesus.
We go into 2020 in less than 24 hours. LESS THAN 24!!!!! Don’t get this far and then allow the weight of your past to tie itself around your ankles. Your past can be a person, a mindset, a mental battle or even a habit. In any case, it’s never worth bringing your past into any room of your life that’s not labeled ‘past.’
You made a mistake and regret it? Repent ( regret action or sin and THEN turn from the action) and keep it moving. Simple as that. You will have to remind yourself that you’ve already been forgiven. You will have to remind yourself that God forgets that which He forgives. You will have to remind yourself that His grace covers you. No matter what. Most importantly you will have to remember that God loves you. Yes, you. Even in the times you can’t find the reasoning to love yourself, He loves YOU. And He has a greater end stored up for you that can not be compared to the limits that your past brings with it.
Trust me, I know the temptation. It’s familiar. You think if you give it another chance then maybe you can change how it ended or how you behaved, but baby girl you are not God. Are there ugly parts that we wish would vanish? Of course, but to accept your past is to deny your destiny, and that’s not God’s desire for you.
Chin up. With your trust and belief in God’s love and plans for you, it’s only up from here.
Love you bunches ❤️
