One of the hardest things for me to grasp was that someone could ever love me: that I was ever someone’s first choice or ever could be: that my best bet was to support until the day I went to see God.

What a life. 🙃 Needless to say, but I didn’t expect life out of God. Even through this blog, the back of my mind always said- yea imma gonna help a woman get the strength to takeoff. I never put the expectation on God to ever really blow me up. I didn’t want to put the expectation there to be let down again. Healthy? No. Easy? Absolutely. Singing and praying people into freedom while placing the shackles of less than on my ankles every morning. What a life. 😞

Sometimes it’s easier to count yourself out rather than betting on God bc well you’ve never seen Him or your mind has created the scenario that just like everyone else, He doesn’t see you as His first. Best thing to break up this lie? Apply the Word. Nothing. Even the movie in your mind can stand up against the words of God concerning you. He demonstrates over and over His love and affirmation of you. Isaiah 43:1 says verbatim, “…you are mine” Trust me when I say, I know the intentionality it takes for your heart to believe that. With all the wounds that cling to your heart and the memories that stain your mind, it’s hard as hail to believe that God calls you His own. But being broke down is not what God created you for.

He is with you. He is with us. Psalms 23 tells us of his company and comfort on this journey of becoming. It’s hard to digest- I know, but salvation brings more than heaven, it brings freedom. You are free!!!! Free from rejection. Free from sloppy seconds. Free from isolation and loneliness. Free of every high thing in your mind. Free.

Where the spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. Cry if you need to. Question Him if you must, but unshackle the chains of bondage that no longer have power over you. There is freedom. There is freedom. There. Is. Freedom.
