Lose Control

Is it even possible? Everyday, you are given the tools to be in control of your life: how to take control of your emotions, how to take control of your finances, how to take control of your relationships with others, how to take control of your health, how to….how to….HOW TO.

There’s an entire market that thrives off of empowering people to be in control. If you go back and read some blogs within this last year, I know you’ll see D3stined advocating for that same market: control. I wonder, and know that I ask this with love and hope for healthy dialogue, if you are always in control then where does God fit?

It’s a tough one to swallow. If you’re anything like me, you don’t even want to unpack this because the idea of not being in control or “stable” is breathtaking. I mean…. HOW?! I can feel the anxiety sitting on my chest from just the thought.

To be in control of your own life is to be out of alignment with God. Read that one again baby girl. I challenge you just like I challenge myself to be fully committed to your walk with God. What does that look like? Trusting Him.

We build our relationship with Him off of this firm belief that He sent His son for our redemption and by the blood Jesus we now reign as joint heirs with Christ. Our relationship is woven with God’s love for us and our faith in Him. The Bible tells us that nothing shall separate us from His love. Not even our own inability to love ourself or make wise decisions will separate us from His love BECAUSE the Bible tells us that He has already seen our days played out, yet the lamb was STILL slain for our redemption back into the Kingdom.

It’s hard. Let’s be real. It’s hard as cement sometimes to trust God and not limit Him to the highest standard of the last person we trusted but failed to meet our expectation of perfection. The Bible tells us He isn’t a man, so this week, I challenge you until we meet again next week- be intentional in loving God as the GOD He is and not the man you’ve labeled Him to be based off of other men in your life.

It was never our job to deal with the weight and responsibility of being in control and I believe it’s witchcraft to glamorize a position that was always ONLY meant for God. Tear your idols down. Tear yourself down, and remember you’re STILL in His hands.

Love you bunches ❤️
