The Beginning

Let me pose a hypothetical question that may make you nervous:

What truths do you believe about you that are stunting your growth?

There is a saying that says,

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.” – Mahatma Gandhi

It’s all connected, and it all dictates your life. We love to hate them: the beliefs that tear us from the inside out and at times keep us from really stepping into all that we can be. If you’re anything like me, there have even been nights of just begging God to make it stop- the contradictory living.

You know the Word, but it just seems distant when you need it most. You know to pray, but sometimes it feels like it won’t even work because you need something done immediately. You know the Bible encourages community, but isolation just feels so much safer.

It’s a crazy place to be in- especially while healing.

Healing will have you questioning everything and daily wondering if you’re one step away from being in someone’s crazy house. The lines grow hazy and it makes the most sense to just shut down.

So how do you deal when you are actively pursuing wholeness? How do you function when you are simultaneously unbecoming everything you were while becoming everything God has made you to be?

You do what doesn’t make sense. You do what doesn’t feel natural.

Starting with making a discipline out of devotion and a priority out of prayer. Make this your starting point for the next week. Again, it would be great, perfect even, if I could give you that three step method to make it all better and have us sitting on someone’s roof enjoying brunch, but it would be illegitimate and short lived.

Your destiny is too precious to shortchange, and you are too valuable to keep cheating yourself out of the life intended for you. Your healing is worth it because you are worth it. You gotta remember that on this journey or it’ll feel like you’re wasting your time. It’s worth it, and so are you.

For the next seven days until we meet again, join me on making intentional time with God, so that Holy Spirit can help us pull down every lie that has presented itself true in your life.

It may feel shaky right now, but we stand on the solid rock who is Jesus Christ. Any other idol, belief or doctrine is false and is no sturdier than sinking sand pulling you down with it. Tomorrow starts Day 1. I’m excited to be doing this with you.

Love you bunches ❤️
